it is finally raining...

I know. There are lots of folks around who would think the message of "it is raining" would be the worst news ever. My heart goes out... and many prayers are offered in behalf of those who have suffered the devastating effects of the floods along the Mississippi River and other areas...

BUT... it has been soooo hot and soooo dry in the part of the world we call home. We have needed rain desperately. The last several days have seen rainfall... some "good rains" and a few "light showers." Either way. God has blessed us and we are grateful.

I have been working on our yard more than usual this year - guess it is that get it ready to sell thing... it was fine for me, but we want it to look better for others (I know - just call me goofy!). I have watered more and had less return than normal. That has all changed... when God sends the water... well it is just different.

That is true for more than just a yard isn't it. When we are open to and receive the rain from God we are different.

This week has been different for me. We had brought Raegan to camp and I just decided to take a week off. I have spent a couple of days now doing "nothing." Sonya had to go home for a doctors appointment. She and Katelynn will be joining me tomorrow - that will be good. She has texted several times and said what are you doing... Several times all I could say was... NOTHING!

This has been a great time of soaking in the rain... of listening to God... of enjoying some time with friends... of watching the clouds... enjoying the mountains... of being refreshed.

I knew I was tired. I did not realize how tired I was. It has been good.

Today... you may not be able to just take a week off... find/make some time to soak it... to read and pray... to watch and thank.

read that your youngest has decided to become my sister rather than just one of my best little friends. I called her a few days ago. Don't have to tell you Ray how special your family is to the family in DC. The "water" makes you smile in many ways. Congrats Dad. DB
